About me

About me

Hi, I’m Alex! 👋

I graduated with a First Class (BSc) degree in Biomedical Science from Lancaster University in 2022. But like many new grads, I faced a daunting challenge: landing my first job.

To save others from uncertainty and frustration, I’ve channeled everything I’ve learned into this guide, designed to help you build a CV that gets noticed and sets you up for success.

My experience spans every corner of the biomedical field:

  • Education Officer at the IBMS:
After graduating, I joined the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), where I gained unique insights into the challenges biomed graduates face.
  • Trainee Biomedical Scientist in the NHS:
Out of my academic cohort, I was one of the eight who secured a placement in the NHS, training in Histopathology. I earned my Certificate of Competence and became HCPC registered after graduation.
  • Social Media Coordinator in Health Tech:
Currently, I work for a global HealthTech company, collaborating with doctors, nurses, and pharmacists.

With my diverse background spanning education, lab work, and healthcare marketing, I’ve gained a well-rounded perspective on what it takes to not just land a job, but thrive in the biomedical field.
